BIOGRAPHY:

Googoosh, born Faegheh Atashin, is an Iranian singer and actress who is one of the most influential figures in pop music in Iran and the world. She was born in Tehran on May 5, 1950, and had an early interest in the arts.

During her career in Iran, Googoos collaborated with many of the country’s most renowned composers and lyricists, leaving behind a legacy of timeless works. With her warm and captivating voice, she beautifully performed love songs and social commentary, making her one of the most popular Iranian singers.

Some of Googoos’s most famous collaborations include those with Varujan, Parviz Meshkatian, Jahanbakhsh Payzoozeki, Hassan Shamaizadeh, Shahriar Ghanbari, and Eghbal Jenati Atai. These collaborations resulted in timeless works that are still popular today, many years after their release.

After the Iranian Revolution of 1979, Googoos moved to Los Angeles. She has continued to tour extensively around the world in recent years and remains one of the most popular Iranian singers.
