Ebi

Ebi,  ( Ebrahim Hamidi) , is a prominent Iranian pop singer who was born in Tehran on June 29, 1949. He began his musical career in the 1960s without any formal training.

Early career

Ebiinitially performed in a band called San Boys, and then started singing professionally in nightclubs and youth palaces. In Sun Boys, he first imitated Italian songs, particularly those of Albano Carrisi, and then went on to perform songs by other popular singers of the era, such as Jim Morrison, Eric Burdon, Tom Jones, and Peppino Di Capri.

Later career

Over the years, Ebi has released numerous albums and singles, and has collaborated with many great artists. Fredi Zolland and Siavash Ghomayshi have collaborated with Ebi the most, with 39 and 27 songs respectively. Zolland’s last collaboration with Ebi was on the album “Toloo Kon”, and Ghomayshi’s last collaboration with Ebi was on the album “Shab-e Nilofari”.

In recent years, Ebi has somewhat avoided traditional composers in the production of his songs, and has collaborated with Schubert Avakian, Shadmehr Aghili, and Alireza Afkari.
